Festinho 2009 pics

I’ve also uploaded a batch of photos I took at the Festinho Festival held 5-7 Sept at Kentwell Hall, in aid of the ABC Trust.
There’s a few gaps over the w/e when my interest was more focused on cider and music (or ‘unfocused’ would probably be more accurate), but as well as many random shots of friends and friendly randoms, the gallery also contains pics of Mixmaster Morris, The Shadow Orchestra, Mawkin:Causley, Pete Lawrence, AGT Rave Cru and, of course, some of the ‘award-winning’ Purple Radio crew at work and play.

I have some computer woes at the moment which are causing latency issues when I record the shows live in Audacity. Drop-outs and glitches aplenty. This is a re-record I put together after the event, so it’s obviously missing the mic action and scintillating chat (no, really!) from the live show. It includes a great guest mix from Paul Kendricks which starts at around the 27 minute mark (sandwiched between the David Jensen and Barry Scott stings).
There’s a pretty haphazard selection from me either side of PK’s mix – iirc I had just arrived home mere minutes before the start of the show, tired and hungover, from a drunken w/e camping trip celebrating a friend’s birthday, so I was literally grabbing tunes from the shelves as I started the broadcast – but two tracks in particular are worth a special mention. Matt Whitehead – Tuff City is from the brilliant first release on the Rebel Intelligence label. And Kritical Audio – Spandex is taken from the second release on Handsette Recordings (the label that also brought us the fantastic Datashat – Stop The Message). Go out and buy them both now. On vinyl. Small labels need our support.
